The design of Don Mills was influenced by the garden city movement. The Garden City is a method of urban planning where self-contained mixed-use communities are surrounded and connected to green belts.

2,4, 6 The Donway and 1053 Don Mills is located on the southeastern quadrant of the Donway circle that is intersected by Don Mills Road.
The neighbourhood is extremely well-served by amenities such as the Shops at Don Mills, the Civitan Arena, Don Mills Middle School, Don Mills Collegiate, parks, trails, and nearby ravines.

Don Mills design was influenced by the garden city movement and is connected to the ravine system via a network of trails and parks.
